As an experienced professional performer with classical and contemporary training, Nanne Allecia has become one of New York’s most loved voice teachers for children, tweens, teenagers and adults alike. Nanne believes it is imperative to develop a healthy vocal technique that can be applied across all styles- from Musical Theatre to Pop, Jazz and beyond.

As a Broadway professional, voice teacher, producer and mother, Nanne brings her love of music and the arts to each and every private lesson. By understanding the needs of each student, she is able to balance their desire for expression with his or her developmental stage and ability. Additionally, lessons should help instill an enduring love and appreciation for music and singing.

Nanne holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Theatre from Barnard College, Columbia University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.  She has been performing professionally since the age of 14 when she made her Off-Broadway debut in The Second Hurricane, a children's opera directed by Tazwell Thompson and performed as part of Aaron Copland's 85th birthday celebration. While still in college, she won the New York Singing Teachers' Association's Musical Theatre Competition. During her sophomore year she performed Off-Broadway at the Light Opera of Manhattan (LOOM) in HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, Sweethearts and The Red Mill to name just a few. Over the years, Nanne has sung on Broadway, Off Broadway, at Lincoln Center, the NYC Opera, and throughout the country. Favorite productions include Candide directed by Hal Prince (Cunegone) Gifts of the Magi (Della), Something's Afoot (Hope), Kids In America (Tracy), Into the Woods (Cinderella), Oklahoma (Laurie), Godpsell, Showboat, and Of Thee I Sing for Encores! directed by Kathleen Marshall.

She has also starred in numerous productions of Musicals Tonight! in NYC including I Married An Angel, Face The Music, The New Yorkers, The Girlfriend, and Dearest Enemy.  Nanne's performances also include Candide at New York City Opera and the Houston Grand Opera's production of A Little Night Music, where she played Anne and had the opportunity to work with Stephen Sondheim. When Nanne is not signing on stage, she can sometimes be found singing the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden during the New York Ranger's home games, a favorite venue for her son Jesse.

Nanne can be heard on the Broadway cast recording of Candide along with Lost in Boston IV and Unsung Musicals IIIA Time To Be Born, and on the Musical Theatre International recording of Big.

Nanne is a member of Actor's Equity (AEA), American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), and AFTRA (American Film, Television and Radio Association).

Nanne is also the co-founder and producer of Voices Carry NY- “The Broadway camp for adults” which offers grown ups the opportunity to perform at an off-Broadway theater in a fully staged musical production. www.voicescarryny.com
